What Is Bar Code Rape?
Bar Code Rape: It's Not Just a Term. It's a real thing. It happens to you all the time, and it's just that you don't know it has happened to you until it happens. Are you at a trade show? Do you feel like you're being scanned without your consent? If the answer is yes, you've probably been bar code raped. Using nametag bar codes as a rape tool is called bar code rape. Bar code rape occurs when the trade show exhibitors scan an attendee's nametag bar code before telling them anything about the product or service they are promoting. The correct method is for the exhibitor to provide information about the product or service and then only scan an attendee's bar code if they desire more information if they are hired by representatives who are paid a commission for each bar code they collect. They say, "Booth bunnies don't get bitten. " what if they do? When you attend a technology trade show, you should be prepared for anything. An attractive woman in a tight shirt might approach you and request that you complete a card so she can give you a free pen, for example, or a t-shirt or something else that costs money. That's barcode rape. It happens more often than you would think. Most attendees at technology trade shows tend to be male, so exhibitors are always looking for attractive women to help them collect leads from attendees. These women are known as booth bunnies, and they sometimes use barcode rape techniques and increasingly sophisticated techniques to get as many leads as possible from unsuspecting attendees. Most cases of barcode rape go unreported because victims feel too embarrassed or ashamed to report them. The truth is, we need to discuss this more to end it once and for all!
