What Is Player Versus Player (PvP)?
If you're into a good challenge, you've probably played at least one game that involved killing your friends (or otherwise preventing them from killing you). It's called PvP, which stands for Player Versus Player (PvP). In a PvP game, you and your opponent’s play directly against each other. The fun doesn't have an AI opponent to take care of all the hard work for you—instead, it features an AI that acts as a second player if the gamer plays solo. Deathmatch is one of the most popular forms of PvP, where two or more players battle each other in an arena until one side dies. Many variations of deathmatch include capture-the-flag, team deathmatch, and elimination. In elimination mode, players are killed off one at a time until only one remain. It can take place over multiple rounds of play, with different players acting as "survivors" each round until there are no survivors left. Another popular form of PvP is capture-the-flag (CTF), where two teams compete to capture each other's flag and bring it back to their base before being killed by members of the opposing team. CTF matches often take place on two maps simultaneously—one for offense and one for defense—with each group starting with their flag on their respective map and attempting to steal the other team's flag while defending their flag at all costs! Do you know what's better than one game? Two games! That's right; we're talking about hybrid games. You know, the kind of games that combine PvE and PvP elements. The best part about these games is that they keep you engaged differently. If you're looking for an RPG where you can focus on leveling up your character, that's fine—but other modes let you battle against other players online. If you love RPGs but also like the thrill of competition? Then we've got just the thing for you!
