Render partners with VEA Connect to accelerate fiber network builds
By Business Wire
Render's end-to-end visibility and automation allow turnkey FTTX solutions provider to deliver connectivity faster and more efficiently across Southeast U.S.
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#Broadband--Render Networks today announced VEA Connect (VEA) selected Render’s market-leading network construction technology to deliver VEA’s first U.S. fiber network for OpenFiber, serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Render’s solution will enable VEA to drive efficiency across the planned 321,000-premise network build and connect locations faster with end-to-end automation from construction to operations.
VEA Connect is a renowned subsidiary of the esteemed VEA Group, a global investment company with a diversified portfolio of independently-managed telecommunications businesses and operations across South Africa, the UK, and the U.S. With over $200 million turnover and an impressive CAGR of 48%, the VEA Group is one of many private firms investing in U.S. broadband as the nation aims to connect every community and household to high-quality internet.
The fiber network will be built and managed for VEA’s customer OpenFiber and will serve the suburbs of Charlotte–N.C.’s largest city. Like many towns across the U.S., Matthews is experiencing rapid growth and requires premium broadband options to support new businesses and residents. Because the private broadband investment market is becoming competitive, VEA needed a fiber network construction solution to automate workflows and proactively manage maintenance to increase efficiency and speed.
Through a highly competitive sales process, VEA Group evaluated leading telco construction management solutions, looking for best-of-breed solutions with end-to-end automation to reduce all manual interactions across the build, operations, and maintenance stages of the network lifecycle.
“We’re growing quickly. In our first six months of operations in the U.S., we passed 22,000 homes with fiber. We plan to increase another 443,000 homes passed over the next three years, and Render will allow us to accomplish–even exceed–that goal,” said Louis Bester, CTO at VEA. “Render can streamline our tools and processes with automated work scope creation, real-time performance insights across the portfolio, and change management functionality. We now have unmatched visibility, improved productivity, and aligned stakeholders.”
Render will enable portfolio companies like VEA Group to manage multiple networks with a single source of rich GIS network data from construction to operations. Project data will be instantly and securely available and operable across VEA’s project and enterprise ecosystem, ensuring a single and connected source of real-time insights and information.
“Render is excited to partner with VEA to provide high-speed connectivity for underserved communities across the Southeast U.S. Our customers are routinely finishing projects 30% ahead of schedule and we are thrilled to deliver these heightened levels of productivity to VEA and accelerate their deployment of high-quality networks across the U.S. market. Render’s unique solution empowers network builders with end-to-end automation and visibility, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, an especially relevant consideration given today’s funding landscape and constrained labor market,” said Sam Pratt, CEO of Render Networks.
