What Is Talking Trojan?

A Trojan virus is software that is run pretending to be doing one thing while it could be doing anything else in the background. The Trojan horse used to bring a computer down just by opening the program was very effective in its time, but many of us are savvier these days and don't fall for it. Instead of simply deleting files as most Trojans do, this clever little virus attacks your ears by playing an audio message every time you boot up. Some Trojans pretend to be a program you want to run, such as a video player. When you open the program, it plays a video that tells you that the system has been infected. The message even includes a phone number to call for assistance in some cases. While you are busy watching the news, the Trojan is busy destroying your system. A Trojan is a type of malware that appears to be doing one thing but does another. A Trojan horse program can hide in an image file, Windows shortcut file or another type of program and then run when the user opens the file or clicks on the shortcut. A talking Trojan sends a message telling you your system is infected. The message replays while the Trojan attempts to destroy your computer. The first Trojan horse was found in the late seventeenth century by Chinese soldiers who brought an attractive-looking souvenir. Only later do they realize that this gift was a trap and that they had placed themselves in harm's way. So in the future, If a message pops up on your screen (either from an unknown source or from the one you think you trust), it's always a brilliant idea to listen. The Talking Trojan will play its message repeatedly until you hit stop, regardless of what else might be happening on your computer.
