What Is Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR)?
You have much to keep track of in the digital world, and it can take time to know when to make your security systems more sophisticated. However, you have to step up your game at some point. SOAR is a new security architecture that helps companies and organizations deal with security threats. It includes all the physical and digital security tools you need to respond quickly to new threats, like new software packages that run on top of firewalls or perimeter security hardware, making unique and more sophisticated processes beyond simple perimeter security. The industry often uses the acronym "SOAR" to describe this type of technology. However, the term "SOAR" is also used as an adjective to describe any solution that automates tasks in a way that allows the system administrator to focus on other tasks. At the same time, the automated process works behind the scenes. It is all about the SOAR. SOAR, or security operations and analysis reference model is a framework that integrates data from various security tools into a single interface to provide a comprehensive view of an organization's security risks. In other terms, it helps you manage all the different parts of your system and ensure it is as secure as possible. The difference between SOAR and SIEM is that SOAR enhances what is possible through SIEM models by providing overarching automation strategies—perhaps several standalone security tools are not linked. A SOAR architecture works proactively to protect a system with monitoring, integrated threat detection and incident response capabilities, and other features. SOAR is "simplified orchestration, automation, and recovery," It is all about streamlining the security incident response process. You can use it to detect threats and vulnerabilities in your system and help you manage them. SIEM is a more reactive approach that enables you to discover dangers after they have already happened. So if you are looking for a way to proactively keep your data safe, SOAR might be just what you need.
