What Is Remote Lock?
If you've ever lost your phone, you know how awful it can be to realize it's gone. You know how much worse it gets if your phone is a tablet PC. There are ways to keep your data secure and ensure no one else can access your device, even if it's lost or stolen. That's where remote locks come in! A remote lock is a security mechanism that allows an individual to lock a cell phone or tablet PC from a remote location. It prevents theft or unauthorized data access to stolen or lost smartphones and other portable devices. What is a remote lock? A remote lock is a security mechanism that allows the owner of a device to lock it remotely. Both individuals can do it with the device and by law enforcement officials to whom the device owner has given permission. A remote lock can also be used as an anti-theft feature. If you want to keep someone from accessing your data when they steal your phone, put in your four-digit code and then enter it again when prompted (you'll need this code if you want to unlock your phone later). How does it work? The first step in using this security feature is downloading an app on your device—this will usually come preinstalled with whichever operating system (OS) you're using. Then, open up the app and follow its instructions for registering with them (usually just entering basic information like name, address and phone number). Once registered, you must enter your password into Never lose your phone again. Like most people, you have a few essential documents on your phone. If you've ever had a phone stolen or lost, you know how devastating it can be to lose that data. The good news is that with Remote Lock, you never have to worry about losing your phone or its information again. Remote Lock allows you to lock your device remotely, even if it's been stolen or lost. You can use Android Device Manager to locate and call your missing device from any computer with internet access and change its password so that no one else can access its data or call it back. Reset its existing password and prevent it from accessing any content on the phone until the correct password is entered again. Also, if someone tries to factory reset the device, they'll only be able to do so after entering the new password you set up through Android Device Manager!
