What Is Microcommerce?
It's no secret that e-commerce is a booming business. Did you know there's a new way of doing it? Microcommerce is the new buzzword in e-commerce. So what is it? Well, micro commerce is a business model involving minimal payments or micropayments. In other words, it's an online payment system where you can buy something for less than a dollar (or any additional amount). It can be anything from a song download to an article read to a video watched. Micro commerce makes it easier to buy products online without paying for things like shipping and handling, which can increase your total cost by as much as 20%! So how does it work? When you're ready to buy something online from a company like theirs, they'll send you a Confirmation email with a link directly to their website. Once there, you must enter your credit card information and choose what product(s) or service(s) you want. It's elementary! Once everything is set up, they'll charge your card automatically every time they send out an email with another link (usually on the first of every month). Microcommerce is an emerging business trend within e-commerce. It works similarly to e-commerce, but the product prices generally are at most $20. Typically, micro commerce involves purchasing online goods such as content, songs, wallpapers, and e-books. The payment process between the merchant and the buyer is managed through an online payment processor or the mobile operator (in the case of mobile payment). Since the products and services are low-priced and targeted at general individuals, micro commerce is primarily a Business to Customer (B2C) model. You may also wonder, "What kind of products would I buy in micro commerce? " Well, there are plenty of options for you! You can choose from books like "Why Having More Money Won't Make You Happier," music like "The Greatest Hits" by The Beatles or even wallpaper for your phone! Microcommerce has many advantages over regular e-commerce: it's cheaper than common e-commerce because it doesn't require high overhead costs such as renting office space or paying employees; it's more convenient because you don't need to leave home to go shopping; it's more accessible because you can do your shopping while sitting on your couch.
