What Is HomeGroup?
You're going to love HomeGroup. Imagine this: You have a home network and want to share files between your computers. You've got printers too so that you can print from any home computer you don't have to worry about everything separately because HomeGroup does it for you! It's like magic! It's so easy, too: click here, then click here, then click some more places, and wait for the magic to happen! If you have multiple computers in your home network, that's okay too! As long as they're connected via a home network (a wireless connection), they can also share files and printers seamlessly. HomeGroup also allows other devices on the web, such as smart TVs and gaming systems, to be added to the media libraries, where different computers can access them. Creating a HomeGroup is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended for everybody connected to a network-declared home. It makes sharing between systems as straightforward and secure as it has built-in security protocols. It is recommended to choose a strong password and not share it with anybody, as it will enable anybody connected to the network to access shared information. Also, it is recommended to change your password from time to time; homeGroups are a great way to share data among computers on the same network; nobody likes sharing. Sharing is for chumps. But sometimes, you have to share because it's the only way to get what you want—like playing a game with your friends or watching a movie together on Netflix. Sometimes sharing is necessary even if it's not fun—like when you need to share your Wi-Fi password with your roommate or family members so they can do their own thing on your network without asking you for access. That's where HomeGroups come in! HomeGroups are a quick and easy way to share files and devices between computers on the same network. They're like a group of siblings who are always getting into trouble but love each other fiercely and stick together when times get tough.
