What Is Googleplex?
With this one, we are not talking about a wonderland with rides, candies, and all the goodies you would wish for. Wait, this place is a company HQ with all those things and more. Amazed, and so are we! Googleplex is the headquarters of Google Inc. and it's the world's biggest Googleplex. The company's offices are in California and comprise a series of complex buildings that house the company's staff. While most people pronounce the word like "Google" plus "plex," some people say it like Googolplex, a mathematical notation used to represent a number that's too big to express with an ordinary digit (to get an idea of how big Googolplex is, think about how many zeros you'd need to write out all the numbers between 1 and 10). Googleplex, the corporate headquarters of Google, is a labyrinth of buildings spread out over an enormous area. We are still determining precisely how much space it covers, but the facilities are small in height and relatively close to one another. Google has a new office space in Mountain View, California, called Googleplex. The campus was owned by a graphic design studio and is now run by Google as the company's headquarters. Googleplex was designed by architect Clive Wilkinson, famous for his workspaces that encourage employee teamwork and imagination. The campus consists of seven buildings and covers 47,000 square meters. Googleplex presently houses more than 10,000 employees and is expected to grow further as the company expands its operations. Besides housing all the offices and cubicles you'd expect at a corporation like Google, the campus has recreational aptitudes such as a gym, laundry facilities, a volleyball court and cafeterias, and multiple sporting activities. So, if you want to impress your friends with your math knowledge, tell them that Google has its Googolplex!
