What Is Foundation Framework?
We all know what it's like to be stuck in a rut. You're working with the same tools and controls, design languages, and workflow. You know your designs could be better, but you need help figuring out how or where to start. We've been there too. That's why we developed Foundation, an open-source front-end framework that integrates HTML, CSS and other tools and controls to provide a responsive environment for design. It has been maintained by ZURB since its development several years ago; several subsequent versions were released in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and another is planned for 2015. On the surface, it can look not very comforting. There are a lot of new terms and concepts to understand. But let's put things into perspective. If you are a beginner without experience, you are better off starting with vanilla CSS. Trying to learn Sass/SCSS while learning vanilla CSS is not a bad idea. Once you have a good foundation in vanilla CSS, learning these other languages will be much easier. Keep in mind that all of these languages are entirely open source. You don't have to pay for anything; you can download these tools for free. You can read the documentation online. You can even go to Reddit and ask questions if you get stuck. Web design is constantly changing, and it can be hard to keep up with all the latest trends. The Foundation framework is designed to give you a solid foundation for your projects, whatever they may be. Foundation includes rapid prototyping features, tools for a responsive design for mobile projects, a modular structure, and "mixins," which are not offered by CSS. In general, Foundation provides an alternative way to construct Web projects in a complex design environment where developers must address the needs of mobile device users and conventional computer users.
