What Is Forefront Client Security?
If you have a Windows-based client-end computing device, don't assume it's safe. Windows has held its battle against malware and viruses for decades. But keep in mind that malware and viruses constantly evolve and adapt to survive, so as soon as Microsoft eliminates one, another will take its place. It is where Forefront Client Security comes in. It's a proprietary information security software suite developed and published by the Microsoft Corporation. It is designed to scan, identify and remove viruses and malware from Windows-based client-end computing devices within an enterprise IT environment. Forefront Client Security was first released in 2007 under the name Forefront Server Security and was designed to protect Microsoft Exchange Server. In 2011, it was re-branded as Forefront Client Security and expanded to cover Microsoft SharePoint. In November 2013, it was further updated and developed to protect Microsoft SQL Server. The latest version of the software, released in November 2015, expanded to cover Microsoft Exchange Server, SharePoint, SQL Server, and other cloud-based software. It also manages your clients from any device, anywhere. Forefront Client Security can collect you remotely even if you're not on the client. The program/application can be installed on a server and managed from there, allowing you to access your client's data from anywhere and keep them safe from malware attacks. Forefront Client Security is how to keep your entire company's computers safe from viruses. Forefront Client Security is a unified desktop anti-virus software for enterprise IT users/networks/environments. It is compatible with Windows Server 2000, Windows XP, and server and client-end operating systems. It includes a real-time virus scanner that immediately notifying the user of any threat/virus identified on the system. It can also perform automated scheduled scans and support system recovery. It can be integrated with Windows Update services to automatically update all computers without manually editing them.
