What Is CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional)?
If you want to take your data management career to the next level, look no further than CDMP certification. The Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) is a certification for information technology (IT) professionals that confirms a candidate has successfully demonstrated mastery of DAMA International’s Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBK V2). By passing this exam, you'll become part of an elite group of people who can help businesses improve their organizational performance by maximizing the value of their critical data assets. With many companies moving toward cloud-based storage systems, the need for skilled professionals who can design and implement these solutions is higher than ever. As a CDMP-certified professional, you'll be able to offer your clients deep expertise in all things data management—from design and implementation through implementation support—that will help them make informed decisions about how best to leverage their data assets. In addition to taking this exam once every three years, as required by DAMA International's certification policy, you'll also have access to an online community where you can connect with other industry professionals and share ideas on best practices related to everything from system architecture through disaster recovery planning. If you want to get certified in data management, all candidates must pass the core exam in Data Management Fundamentals. The Data Management Fundamentals exam covers 14 subjects, and test-takers are encouraged to have at least six months of industry experience. It is highly suggested that anyone studying for the exam know-how subject weightings are determined. For example, many people who take the exam have questions about the section on data quality. This topic has been weighted as one of the essential parts of the exam—so if candidates aren't prepared for it, they may see their scores suffer greatly.
