It's time to shut down that PC because its time to think about the earth and how we utilize its resources. The best part you're about to be carbon-free. That's right: VIA Technologies has just announced the world's first certified carbon-free PCs. The VIA Carbon Free Computing initiative will consist of programs and products designed to reduce the impact of computers on the environment. The Carbon-Free Computing initiative is part of VIA's Green Computing Initiative, which aims to manufacture the world's first line of PC products that can be certified carbon-free. Only some people want to be a part of the dirty energy game. If you're looking for a way to improve the world, check out VIA's Carbon Free Computing initiative. They're working with partners and organizations to create PCs that can be certified as "carbon free, " meaning they don't contribute to climate change or other environmental issues. VIA also works with commercial, government, and end-users to help them discover "carbon-free" PCs and their benefits. It's not just about the environment. It's about your carbon footprint. We're all about reducing our carbon footprints, which means more than just turning off the lights when you leave the room. It means being conscientious about everything we do, from how much electricity we use to how much waste we create. So when we realized that computers are responsible for more than half of household electricity consumption, we knew we had to take action. We partnered with environmental experts to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emissions released into the environment from power plants over an average computer product's lifetime. We then implemented projects like reforestation and alternative energy sources to help reduce those emissions while still providing you with top-notch products that keep up with your busy lifestyle. Because it's not just about the environment, it's about your carbon footprint!
