What Is Bezel?

No, we are not talking about a salty bread called the pretzel. What we wish to talk about is the bezel. You should get a bezel if you're looking for a way to spice up your tech. The bezel is that part of a device that surrounds the screen. It's also known as the frame or setting of something. In other words, it's what makes your phone look like a phone. "bezel" comes from the jewelry endeavor, meaning "the rim around a gemstone." Eventually, it became common in technology because of how much time we spend staring at screens these days (and how much time we spend staring at those screens while holding our phones). The bezel is a staple feature of every television. It's the part that surrounds the glass screen and makes your TV look like a television. What exactly is a bezel? For example, the bezel surrounds the glass screen on a traditional cathode ray television and includes various dials, buttons, and controls. However, as technology has advanced, the concept of designing a bezel for a device has changed in some fundamental ways. Bezel-less smartphones are all the craze these days. It's not just because of their sleek, futuristic looks. It's also because they're more comfortable to hold and use. A little-known fact about these phones is that they have another benefit: they act as a microcomputer that can be unrecognizable by traditional standards! One component of this trend is the small-bezel trend, which has been complemented by other changes like doing away with conventional audio jacks. These changes have further miniaturized and transformed smartphones into powerful microcomputers. What about the future? Can we do away with the remaining "bezel chin" under a smartphone screen? Only time will tell!
