What Is Always On?
The internet is a beautiful place, but there are times when it can be overwhelming. Because it is always on, there are times when you want to turn it off, but you are unable to. The Wi-Fi is always on, and it's all over your house, like an invasive species of spider, one that hops from room to room and won't leave you alone. We've all encountered this problem, and it's one that we can all relate to. What is the answer? A connection to the internet that is always active! If you have an always-on connection, you will never have to worry about whether or not you turned off your device. You can leave it plugged in all the time without worrying about whether or not you will have internet access when you can use it. It's the best of both worlds: uninterrupted connectivity AND the assurance that you won't ever have to worry about losing your connection again! When the first computers were developed, most people believed that the only thing they could do with them performed mathematical calculations. The concept is that a person could connect to a laptop from any location on the planet and command it to do what they wanted to seem unbelievable, like something out of the Harry Potter book series. But now we have always-on systems, which give us the ability to use computers in a variety of different ways. While we are waiting at the doctor's office, we can check our work email on our computers, or we can watch movies on our computers while we are on the train. The elimination of this step has made computing more accessible than ever before, as there is no longer a requirement to wait for new technology. The primary function of computers has expanded far beyond processing numerical data in recent years.
